Odell Beckham is back, as promised.
The Giants wide receiver is at the team's East Rutherford facility to take a physical on the eve of Tuesday's mandatory minicamp, according to a source familiar with Beckham's schedule. Beckham's arrival at the Quest Diagnostics Center was first reported by ESPN.
Star defensive end Olivier Vernon, who was also absent for offseason training activities, is also in the building, according to the source.
For those who have been following the Beckham melodrama, this should not come as a surprise. The receiver told NFL Network's Kimberly Jones a few weeks back that he would "for sure" be attending the mandatory camp. Beckham had missed the team's voluntary sessions throughout the spring.
Beckham seemed to announce his return via Instagram earlier with a montage workout post which included the caption: *"The rain falls on the just and unjust alike..." #ImBack. *
While Beckham was in his right to step away, his arrival in New Jersey certainly sets the stage for an intense round of questioning this week. Was Beckham's absence contract-related? Is he expecting a new deal despite having a year and a fifth-year option remaining on his deal?
We will soon find out.
