If there were any questions that Adrian Peterson would show up to Minnesota Vikings OTA in any condition other than cut and ready to roll, those concerns were quickly dashed.
Offensive coordinator Norv Turner gushed about the running back who returned this week after sitting out early offseason workouts.
"I've been around a lot of these guys a lot of years and he's one of the top guys I've been around," Turner said Thursday, via 1500 ESPN Radio. "He just comes out and looks like he hasn't missed a day."
Peterson missed all but one game in 2014 after being put on the Commissioner's Exempt List following child injury charges in September. Corner Captain Munnerlyn said you couldn't tell the running back had been away from the field.
"He'd been out of football almost a whole year," Munnerlyn said. "A guy like him, though, I haven't been around him a year, or six months, didn't know if he'd come back in this type of shape.
"The guy is in unbelievable shape, like he hadn't missed a step, and he's out to prove a point."
Nothing should surprise us with Peterson, who came off a torn ACL to storm for 2,097 yards in 2012.
Peterson is in line to shoulder a huge load after the Vikings relied on Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata in 2014.
The Vikings' offense with Teddy Bridgewater under center, Peterson being the focal point, Charles Johnson and Mike Wallace on the outside and Kyle Rudolph at tight end has the chance to be sneaky good under Turner.
"If you really break down how we played the last six weeks of the season, we played pretty good on offense," Turner said. "That's something we're going to build on. You add Adrian to it and, yeah, it makes a big difference."
