Oklahoma State Cowboys football player stabbed and robbed

There is troubling news coming from the campus of Oklahoma State, as Stillwater police say a player from the school's football team was stabbed during an incident Monday night.

Cowboys wide receiver Cameron Hunter reported to police that he was stabbed, robbed and abducted, the Tulsa World's Kelly Hines confirmed via Twitter. Police did not release the name of the victim in the incident, but confirmed that a 21-year-old member of the Oklahoma State football team was stabbed in the abdomen and right arm before being pulled into a truck, robbed and dumped at a different location.

Per reports, Hunter was hospitalized and later released after his injuries were treated.

The football program released a short statement to local media Tuesday afternoon that only confirmed there was an investigation into the matter and that a student-athlete was treated and released already.

The Oklahoma State student newspaper also reported several other scary details about the incident.

The 5-foot-6, 180-pound Hunter transferred to the Cowboys from Air Force and will be a junior during the upcoming season. He figures to compete for a role in the rotation at inside receiver and comes from the same high school program in Denton, Texas as a number of his fellow OSU football players.
