Green Bay Packers receiver Romeo Doubs returned to the lineup Sunday following a one-game team-imposed suspension and celebrated with fireworks.
Doubs caught two touchdowns in his first game back, reveling with teammates in the end zone during the 34-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
"I was able to get back to my regular self, you know?" Doubs said, via the team's official website. "Despite what was going on, I just had to do the best of my ability, just limiting those distractions, and ultimately, it paid off."
Doubs caught three passes for 49 yards with scores of 10 and 20 yards.
The wideout was suspended last week for conduct detrimental to the team after he skipped two practices. Doubs denied he'd had issues with his role in the offense. He declined to get into the specifics behind his absence but dismissed it as a long-term issue.
"I wouldn't be worried about that if I was a fan of the Green Bay Packers," he said. "Stuff happens, that's just what we do as humans."
After diving into the end zone on his first score, receivers Christian Watson and Jayden Reed greeted Doubs, with quarterback Jordan Love joining the party.
"We're a family," Love said when asked about Doubs after the game. "We're in this thing all together. Just staying together, keeping that brotherhood is definitely very important to us."
With Doubs back, the Packers' diverse offense sliced through Arizona's defense to the tune of 437 yards and 27 first downs. Love earned his second game of 2024 with four-plus passing TDs -- two to Doubs, one to Reed, and a fourth to Watson. Nine Packers had at least one catch.
"It was huge. We need every single piece that we have in that room," Watson said of Doubs' return. "Just to have him out there and have him making plays, I think that was really exciting, and it's going to be huge. We need everybody so to have him out there was big time."
The victory pushed the Packers to 4-2, keeping them on pace with the rest of the dominating NFC North.
