Panthers RB Williams leaves game with ankle injury

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams left Sunday night's game against the Minnesota Vikings with a left ankle injury.

Williams was hurt on a 4-yard carry late in the first quarter. He got up and limped to the sideline, where team medical staff examined his foot and taped the outside of his shoe. Williams stood on the sideline for the rest of that drive, which ended in a Carolina touchdown, before heading to the locker room.
