Patriots RB Green-Ellis' status in doubt because of toe injury

New England Patriots running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis was held out of practice Thursday because of a toe injury.

Green-Ellis didn't exhibit any foot problems when he ran for a career-high 136 yards and two touchdowns during the Patriots' Week 5 victory over the New York Jets. However, he was a limited participant in practice Wednesday due to the injury, then was downgraded the next day.

The team's official injury report also listed defensive tackle Vince Wilfork (not injury related), linebacker Jerod Mayo and safety Josh Barrett (hamstring) as missing practice, while running back Danny Woodhead, wide receiver Julian Edelman and tight end Aaron Hernandez took part in a limited portion of practice. Earlier in the day, the Patriots announced that defensive lineman Mike Wright was placed on injured reserve with a concussion -- the second consecutive year a concussion has ended his season. Defensive back Phillip Adams was signed to take Wright's place on the 53-man roster.
