Percy Harvin will sit again on Sunday against 49ers

The Seattle Seahawks will be without Percy Harvin for yet another week.

Harrison: Week 14 Game Picks

Elliot Harrison provides his predictions for the entire Week 14 slate, including three key bouts with major playoff implications. **READ**

The veteran wide receiver has been ruled out for Sunday's pivotal NFC West showdown against the San Francisco 49ers due to lingering hip discomfort.

"Percy's not going to make this one, but we're hoping that maybe next week is his week and we'll see how it goes," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told KIRO-FM (via CBSSports.com) on Friday.

The announcement wasn't a huge surprise after Harvin sat out practices on Thursday and Friday. He's played in just one game this season, a Week 11 win over the Minnesota Vikings in which he finished with a 17-yard reception and a 58-yard kickoff return. The hip issue quickly resurfaced.

Harvin underwent hip surgery on Aug. 1, nearly five months after the Seahawks gave up three draft picks -- including a 2014 first-rounder -- to acquire the speedy playmaker in a deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Seahawks could clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs as soon as next week. It remains a very real possibility we won't see Harvin on the field before the second round of the postseason.

Of course, even that could be considered optimistic at this point.
