Marshawn Lynch isn't going anywhere.
That's the word from coach Pete Carroll, who on Monday shot down chatter over the Seahawks running back being shopped ahead of Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET trade deadline.
"I have nothing to say about that because there is nothing to that," Carroll told reporters, per Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.
"At this point I don't think it behooves us to try to respond to all of these things," Carroll said when asked again. "Our players have told you how they feel, our coaches have told you how we feel about it and we are in a really good place right now. ... there is nothing to that report. I don't know where that came from."
We wouldn't be surprised to see the team part ways with Lynch after this season -- he's due another $5 million in 2015 -- but Seattle wants to see more from Robert Turbin and enigmatic "Making the Leap" candidateChristine Michael before cutting ties with the foundation back who currently sports a better yards-per-carry figure (4.3) than he did a year ago (4.2).
A little over a week after trading Percy Harvin to the Jets, though, Carroll didn't dismiss the notion of Seattle making some sort of move before the deadline drops.
"John's working on it," Carroll said of general manager John Schneider. "You never know. All the way until the final hour he's looking at stuff and entertaining thoughts and things like that."
Just not with Marshawn Lynch.
