With Browns wideouts Andrew Hawkins and Taylor Gabriel ruled out for Sunday, will we finally get a look at Terrelle Pryor the pass-catcher?
"We haven't finalized it, but it's a possibility," coach Mike Pettine said Friday, ahead of this weekend's showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals, per The Plain Dealer.
"Terrelle looks like he's in great shape," offensive coordinator John DeFilippo said Thursday. "You would never know he wasn't in an NFL building working out and running and practicing. At this time of the year, a lot of the guys that have been here that have been playing ball, he has fresh legs so he looks a little bit faster than those guys."
"I can't tell you he's going to go out there and play this week, but I do think at some point before the season is over, we will probably see Terrelle Pryor on the field," said DeFilippo, who praised the former Ohio State star as a "security blanket both at receiver and at quarterback."
Playing Pryor would likely mean that Dwayne Bowe goes inactive for another game, but the Browns wouldn't miss the biggest free-agent bust of the year. With Cleveland spiraling toward a top-three draft pick, why not roll with your most exciting players?
UPDATE:Browns fans might need to wait on Pryor. The team on Saturday promoted rookie wideout Darius Jennings off the practice-squad, leaving Pryor as a potential healthy scratch against the Bengals.
