The Eagles acquired wide receiver Jeff Maehl from the Houston Texans in exchange for offensive lineman Nate Menkin.

Maehl spent most of the last two seasons on the Texans' practice squad. His 24 career touchdowns at Oregon tied the school's all-time record. Menkin was in Texans training camp last summer before he was cut and claimed off waivers by Philadelphia, so he's familiar with Houston's scheme.

Maehl has an uphill battle to make the Eagles, but he has the advantage of knowing just what Kelly wants out of a wide receiver.
