Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox was ejected from Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss to the Detroit Lions for a personal foul after an altercation with offensive lineman Gosder Cherilus, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
After the game, Cox told Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer that he had punched a Lions player.
"I can't afford to do that," Cox told McLane.
The incident occurred on the extra-point attempt following Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford's 1-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, Birkett reported.
Both players had been called for penalties earlier in the game. Cherilus had incurred a penalty for unnecessary roughness with 4:52 left in the first quarter. Cox was called for illegal use of hands in the second quarter.
