Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garconinvited skepticism when he opted against surgery to repair the torn ligament in his right foot that hampered him throughout the 2012 season.
Although Garcon has worn "special shoes" to aid his rehabilitation, he has insisted all along that the injury wouldn't prevent him from playing this season.
With the season opener just six days away, Garcon now has declared his foot fully healed.
"Foot's good," Garcon said Monday, via The Washington Post. "Hundred percent."
Redskins fans now can breathe a sigh of relief. Garcon was the engine that made the offense go last season, leading to a 9-1 record in games he played versus 1-5 when he was sidelined by the injury.
A healthy Garcon is a dark-horse candidate to finish in the top 10 among fantasy football wide receivers this season. Matchups don't get any juicier than Garcon's Week 1 bout with cornerback Cary Williams and the Philadelphia Eagles' shaky safeties.
