Pierre Thomas will miss his second straight playoff game.
The New Orleans Saints' starting running back entered Saturday as questionable to play with a chest injury. He is officially inactive against the Seattle Seahawks.
In a game that will be saturated by rain, missing Thomas is a big loss. Thomas is the Saints' most consistent runner and one of the best screen-pass backs in the NFL.
The Saints beat the Philadelphia Eagleslast week, sans Thomas, by leaning on Mark Ingram and rookie Khiry Robinson on the ground and Darren Sproles as their main pass-catcher out of the backfield.
The Saints ended up with 185 yards on the ground last week. However, it faces an exponentially better defense Saturday in Seattle.
Robinson, a free-agent rookie, could play a key role if the Saints are to upset the NFC's No. 1 seed.
