ESPNW profiled Dr. Robin West, the Pittsburgh Steelers' assistant team physician for the past 10 years who thinks NFL injuries are being diagnosed at a greater rate than when she first started.
West was the second woman to be hired as an NFL team physician after the Baltimore Ravens hired Dr. Leigh Ann Curl. That number has grown to four, she said recently.
However, she said she has seen many parents shy away from the sport because of the publicity around brain injuries. She said concussion education is the best thing parents of youth athletes can do.
