Pittsburgh Steelers sign first-round pick Artie Burns

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in business with their first-round pick.

The team announced Wednesday that cornerback Artie Burns, the 25th overall pick in April's draft, has signed a four-year contract that includes a fifth-year team option.

Burns led the ACC with six interceptions in his final year at the University of Miami, where he made 23 starts in three seasons with the Hurricanes. An intriguing prospect with a high ceiling (and low floor), Burns is in position to be a starting cornerback under Steelers defensive coordinator Keith Butler.

The Steelers could use fresh blood in their secondary following a season in which pass defense acted as the team's greatest weakness.
