Pro day results: KSU, Nebraska, South Carolina, Youngstown

Representatives from all 32 teams attended Kansas State's pro day on Tuesday, watching 12 players work out at the school's indoor facility on FieldTurf.

Among the more notable players there:

» Pass rusher Jordan Willis (6-3, 255), KSU's lone combine participant, was put through defensive line and linebacker drills and looked good in both workouts. He stood on all of his combine numbers.

» LB Charmeachealle Moore (5-11 1/4, 229) is a bit undersized but showed some impressive short-area quickness and explosion. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.69 and 4.68 seconds, had a 34 1/2 vertical, a 10-foot broad jump, a 4.36-second short shuttle, a 6.90-second three-cone drill, and added 22 lifts on the bench press. I see him as a late-round draft pick or priority free agent.

» WR Deante Burton (6-1 7/8, 200) ran an identical pair of 40s in 4.52 seconds, had a 38-inch vertical, a 10-foot-10 broad jump, a 4.13-second short shuttle, a 6.79-second three-cone drill, and didn't participate in the bench press. He's a smooth route runner who didn't have a single drop in his workout.

» LB Elijah Lee (6-2 1/2, 229) ran the 40 in 4.73 and 4.71 seconds, had a 38-inch vertical, a 10-2 broad jump, a 4.36-second short shuttle, a 7.14-second three-cone, and added 18 lifts on the bench. He's a bit of a late-developer who likely has worked his way into Day 3 draft discussion.

Other notable pro days on Tuesday

NEBRASKA

Representatives from 19 teams, including Vikings GM Rick Spielman, were on hand to see 22 players work out indoors on FieldTurf.

» TE Cethan Carter (6-2 7/8, 246) stood on all his combine numers with the exception of the 40 (4.65 and 4.71 seconds) and the bench (21 lifts). He's a lower end prospect in a deep tight end class.

» Safety Nate Gerry (6-1 3/4, 223) only participated in the short shuttle (4.37 seconds) and three-cone drill (7.14 seconds), and otherwise stood on his combine numbers.

» WR Jordan Westerkamp (5-11 1/2, 196), second on Nebraska's career receptions list, did not work out even though he said earlier this month that he was "completely healed" from a meniscus tear surgery and another knee issue. He was injured in practice and missed Nebraska's bowl game in December and the East-West Shrine game in January. UPDATE: Westerkamp worked out for teams on April 6. He ran two 4.73-second 40s, and had a 30-5-inch vertical, a 9-1 broad jump, a 4.32-second short shuttle, a 7.25-second three-cone, and added 12 bench lifts.

» QB Tommy Armstrong (6-0 3/8, 216) tested incredibly well, running the 40 in 4.59 and 4.55 seconds, with a 37.5-inch vertical, and a 6.76 three-cone. He's not going to be a quarterback if he makes it at the next level, but his speed and athleticism will get him some looks at other positions. He ran some routes at the pro day for scouts, and could project as a wide receiver or possibly safety.

SOUTH CAROLINA

South Carolina held its pro day and representatives from 20 NFL teams worked out players indoors on FieldTurf.

» DE Darius English (6-5 3/8, 248) ran a pair of identical 4.84-second 40s, had a 35-inch vertical, a 10-9 broad jump, a 4.59 short shuttle, a 7.36 three-cone, and added 19 bench lifts. He's projected as a Day 3 draft pick.

» LB Jonathan Walton (6-0 1/4, 236) had two 4.71-second 40s, a 33.5-inch vertical, a 9-5 broad jump, a 4.59 short shuttle, a 7.03-second three-cone, and added 15 lifts.

» Long snapper Drew Williams (6-1 3/8, 234) ran the 40 in 5.18 and 5.15 seconds, had a 27.5-inch vertical, an 8-10 broad jump, a 4.68 short shuttle, and a 7.49-second three-cone.

» Place-kicker Elliott Fry (5-11 7/8, 172) showed a very strong leg in his workout. He's projected as a free agent.

YOUNGSTOWN STATE

With two players at the combine, there was high interest in Youngstown State's pro day, where reps for 28 teams watched 11 players work out indoors on FieldTurf.

» DE Avery Moss (6-3 1/4, 262) stood on everything from the combine, and had a good workout.

» Pass rusher Derek Rivers (6-3, 249) stood on all of his numbers from the combine and participated in position drills.

» CB David Rivers (6-1, 186) ran the 40 in 4.58 and 4.53 seconds, had a 33.5-inch vertical, a 10-6 broad jump, a 4.27-second short shuttle, a 6.89-second three-cone, and added 14 strength lifts. He wasn't invited to the combine, but he had an excellent workout and is drawing a lot of interest from teams.

NORTHWESTERN, ILLINOIS STATE, INDIANA STATE

Representatives from 25 teams watched 50 players work out at Northwestern from multiple area schools, including nine Wildcats. Al Golden, the tight ends coach with the Lions, was in attendance at the indoor pro day on FieldTurf.

» DL Ifeadi Odenigbo (6-2 7/8, 261), the Big Ten leader in sacks last season, stood on all of his combine numbers, but did go through positions drills.

» LB Anthony Walker (6-0 3/4, 239) went through position drills after standing on all of his combine numbers. He had a good workout.

» WR Austin Carr (6-0 1/4, 202) ran the 40 in 4.61 and 4.62 seconds, had a 33.5-inch vertical, a 9-8 broad jump, a 4.07-second short shuttle, a 6.70-second three-cone, and 16 bench lifts. He's a projected late Day-3 prospect or priority free agent.

» Illinois State OL Cameron Lee (6-4 1/2, 313) ran the 40 in 5.36 and 5.47 seconds, had a 4.90-second short shuttle, and 8.13-second three-cone, and 18 bench lifts. He stood on the rest of his combine numbers.

» Indiana State WR Robert Tonyan (6-4 7/8, 231) ran two 4.58-second 40s, had a 35-inch vertical, a 10-5 broad jump, a 4.34-inch short shuttle, a 7.12-second three-cone, and 16 bench lifts. He played wide receiver in college but projects as a tight end in the NFL. He's a late Day 3 draft pick or a priority free agent.

WEST GEORGIA

Representatives from 26 teams watched 12 players work out outdoors on FieldTurf.

» DL Dylan Donahue (6-2 3/4, 246) had a 9-6 broad jump, a 4.23 short shuttle, 31 bench lifts, and stood on the rest of his combine numbers. He had a good workout.

» DE Alex Armah (6-0 1/8, 244) ran the 40 in 4.69 and 4.70 seconds, had a 34-inch vertical, a 10-2 broad jump, a 4.29-second short shuttle, a 7.00 three-cone, and 26 bench lifts. He played end in college but projects to linebacker in the NFL. He'll be a priority free agent after the draft.

» Pass rusher Jason Hatcher (6-1 3/4, 249) ran the 40 in 4.83 and 4.71 seconds, had a 32-inch vertical, a 9-7 broad jump, a 4.46-second short shuttle, a 7.25-second three-come, and added 23 bench lifts. Like Armah, Hatcher will be a post-draft priority free agent.

MONTANA STATE

Representatives from five teams braved the chilly, wet weather to watch seven players work out outdoors on FieldTurf.

RB Chad Newell (6-1 1/4, 215) ran the 40 in 4.77 and 4.75 seconds, had a 37.5-inch vertical, a 9-11 broad jump, a 4.15-second short shuttle, a 6.80-second three-cone, and added 17 lifts. Ne needs to add weight, but he'll be a priority free agent. He's a good fullback prospect who reminds some scouts of the Packers' Aaron Ripkowski.

OL John Flynn (6-5 3/4, 310) ran the 40 in 5.15 and 5.19 seconds, had a 30.5-inch vertical, an 8-8 broad jump, a 4.73-second short shuttle, a 7.05-second three-cone, and 21 bench-press reps. He's got good arm length at 33 3/8 inches, and should be a priority free agent.

LB Fletcher Collins (6-2 1/4, 225) ran the 40 in 4.70 and 4.67 seconds, had a 38.5-inch vertical, a 10-2 broad jump, a 4.32-second short shuttle, a 6.92-inch three-cone, and 14 bench lifts.

SAN JOSE STATE

Representatives from 16 teams watched seven players work out outdoors on FieldTurf, with one player emerging as a post-draft priority free agent.

» FB Shane Osberg-Smith (6-1 3/8, 244) ran the 40 in 4.78 and 4.83 seconds, had a 37-inch vertical, a 10-0 broad jump, a 4.48-second short shuttle, a 7.37-second three-cone, and added 36 strength lifts.
