Pro day results: WSU, UTEP, Idaho, Wyoming

Pullman isn't the easiest place to get to, but representatives from 15 NFL teams found their way there on Thursday to work out nine players at Washington State's pro day. Among those in attendance at the indoors (AstroTurf) workout was Bengals receivers coach James Urban.

» Safety Shalom Luani (5-11 3/4, 202) stood on all his combine numbers but did participate in position drills. He showed he can be a box safety in the NFL with much better forward movement than backwards. He's a very tough, physical player who will be a special teams demon at the next level.

» WR Gabe Marks (5-11, 182) also stood on his combine numbers. In his position drill, he caught the ball very well and showed quickness off the line of scrimmage.

» WR River Cracraft (6-0 1/4, 193)

Other notable pro days on Thursday

Representatives from 29 teams, including the linebacker and running back coaches from the Lions, were on hand to watch the Cowboys' pro day, where 13 players worked out indoors on FieldTurf.

» RB Brian Hill (6-0 3/4, 221) ran the 40 in 4.51 and 4.54 seconds, and had a 33-inch vertical. He stood on the rest of his numbers from the combine. He had a good workout, catching the ball well out of the backfield. This is a player that could hear his name called on Day 2 of the draft.

» The pro day results for Wyoming's other combine participant, center Chase Roullier, were unavailable.

» LB D.J. May (5-10 7/8, 202) ran the 40 in 4.60 and 4.63 seconds, had a 36-inch vertical, a 10-5 broad jump, a 4.24-second three-cone, and a 7.06-second three-cone. He went through drills for safeties, a position he's projected to play at the next level.

Representatives from 10 teams worked out a total of nine players outdoors on FieldTurf.

» TE Hayden Plinke (6-4 3/8, 250) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.93 and 4.95 seconds, had a 31-inch vertical, a 9-foot-1 broad jump, a 4.62-second short shuttle, and a 7.60-second three-cone drill. He did not lift, and had what was described as a good but not great workout.

» RB Aaron Jones (5-9 3/4, 208) was coming off an impressive combine performance in which he finished in the top three among running backs in the vertical and broad jumps, the three-cone drill, and the short shuttle. He ran the 40-yard dash at his pro day in 4.57 and 4.59 seconds, and had a 36.5-inch vertical. He stood on the rest of his combine numbers.

» LB Nick Usher (6-3 1/4, 235) wasn't invited to the combine but his pro day numbers should be enough to make him a priority free agent. He ran the 40 in 4.78 and 4.69 seconds, had a 31-inch vertical, a 9-10 broad jump, a 4.57 short shuttle, and a 7.50 three-cone drill. He also had 19 lifts, a pretty decent feat for someone with 34.5-inch arms.

Representatives from 10 teams worked out 11 players outdoors on a rubber-type track.

» Punter Austin Rehkow (6-2 5/8, 212), one of five punters invited to the combine, worked out for scouts. He's got experience as a kicker, too, and has a chance to get drafted.

» Junior QB Matt Linehan (6-2, 214), coming off a 3,000-yard, 19-touchdown season, was on hand. The son of Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan led the Vandals to nine victories in 2016, including a bowl win vs. Colorado State, and should be squarely on the NFL radar this time next year.

Representatives from 15 teams worked out nine players outdoors on FieldTurf.

» QB Eli Jenkins (6-0 3/4) ran the 40 in 4.70 and 4.72 seconds, had a 35-inch vertical, a 10-1 broad jump, a 4.46-second short shuttle, 7.14-second three cone. He's projected as a free agent.
