Quick Take: Bears still believe in Rex

It was over when
Bears cornerback Tim Mixon intercepted a pass from Josh Betts with just over 4 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to thwart a Colts drive. Betts rallied the Colts for a touchdown, to draw the score to 27-24 with 2:01 remaining, but Indianapolis did not go for the onside kick.

Game ball
Bears backup quarterback Brian Griese completed 10-of-13 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown. Griese also engineered another scoring drive in the third quarter, capped by Adrian Peterson's 1-yard touchdown run.

Key stat
Embattled quarterback Rex Grossman, who has stated that he wants to cut down on turnovers this season, committed three on Monday night. Grossman fumbled three times (losing two) and threw an interception. He did, however, score on a 1-yard sneak and led the Bears on another scoring drive in the second quarter. And Grossman's teammates still pledged their faith in him.

Noteworthy
Peyton Manning completed 5-of-8 passes for 61 yards, but he did not throw a touchdown pass for the second consecutive week. Hard to believe Tony Dungy is worried. ... Are the Bears committed to getting running back Cedric Benson the ball through the air? Benson has five receptions in two games this preseason. He had only nine career receptions the previous two years.
