Detroit Lions' 38-37 victory over the Cleveland
Browns on Wedneday, Nov. 25
at 8 p.m. ET.
Rookie QB Matthew Stafford, aided by a pass interference penalty in the end zone with no time remaining, hit TE Brandon Pettigrew on an untimed down for a 1-yard touchdown pass to cap an 88-yard drive. Jason Hanson's extra point sealed the Lions' dramatic win.
Game ball
After a timemout, Stafford shook off a left shoulder injury, suffered on the game's second-to-last play, to throw the deciding touchdown pass in obvious pain. It was Stafford's fifth touchdown pass of the game. He finished with 422 yards and two interceptions.
Key Stat
After throwing six touchdown passes in his first seven games, Stafford nearly matched that total with five against the Browns. He became the first rookie quarterback since 1950 with five touchdown passes in a game.
