Keep your eye on ...
Chargers rookies: Top picks Antoine Cason and Jacob Hester made an impact in their first preseason game. Hester scored two touchdowns and could end up being a short-yardage back for the team this season. Cason ended up as the team's leading tackler and made a few veteran plays.
Continued health of Philip Rivers: More important than Rivers' numbers is his actual health. In the team's preseason opener against the Cowboys, Rivers lead the Chargers to touchdowns in two of his four series, but more importantly, reported no additional soreness in his knee.
Quarterback Marc Bulger to rebound: Bulger struggled against the Titans, completing only 3 of 9 passes and had an interception return for a touchdown. Coach Scott Linehan is expected to give the starters extended playing time, and he expects his veterans -- such as Bulger -- to play well.
St. Louis defensive line: Neither Chris Long or Adam Carriker -- the team's top two selections over the past two years -- recorded a tackle against the Titans. The coaches are looking for the duo to become more involved on defense and will probably see more playing time.
