What we learned ...
Tyler Thigpen's struggles haven't stopped: Some people believed that Thigpen deserved to be the Chiefs' starting quarterback after his performance at the end of last season. Those thoughts might have vanished, though, after Thigpen struggled against the Rams, completing just 2 of 9 passes for 49 yards with two interceptions.
Brock Berlin likely will be the Rams' top backup: Berlin and rookie Keith Null are locked in a competition to be the No. 2 QB behind Rams starter Marc Bulger. Berlin and Null were pretty even stats-wise entering this game, but Berlin led St. Louis to its only offensive score, throwing a 6-yard touchdown pass to TE Daniel Fells in the second quarter.
