David Garrard is ready for the regular season:Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio chose to play his starters for most of the first half, which meant Garrard had a lengthy tuneup for the regular season. Against the Redskins' starting defense, Garrard led the Jaguars on a 12-play, 70-yard opening drive that ended with a 23-yard Josh Scobee field goal. Garrard finished 10-of-13 passing for 95 yards and one touchdown.
Marko Mitchell continues to impress: As a seventh-round draft pick with limited special-teams experience, the rookie wide receiver was a long shot to make Washington's roster at the start of training camp. However, after catching a touchdown for the third consecutive preseason game and showing he has the ability to be a playmaker, Mitchell has positioned himself to make it.
