Mark Sanchez's response: Coach Rex Ryan named his rookie quarterback the starter for the season. Now Ryan has two more games to get Sanchez ready for the opener. Sanchez had a tough outing in Baltimore on Monday night and will look to rebound against the Giants. Nothing on the line in this one. We'll see if the extra weight off translates into a better performance.

The Giants' injury situation: Big Blue defenders have been dropping like flies throughout the preseason. The Giants' defensive line was once a strength, but now seems shaky with all the injuries. And a poor performance against the Bears last week did nothing to ease those concerns.
