Quick Take: Lions-Seahawks

In Brief

» Last meeting: In the 2006 season-opener, it was a battle between the kickers and the Seahawks outlasted the Lions, 9-6.
» Streaks: The Lions have won three of the past five, but trail the overall series, 6-4.
» Last week: Detroit was undone by its inability to stop Steven Jackson in a 17-10 loss to St. Louis. ... Seattle hung with Dallas for a while but ultimately could not keep up in a 38-17 loss.

Keep your eye on ...Matthew Stafford's resolve: In his first game back from a knee injury that cost him two starts, Stafford struggled and he heard a mouthful from some Lions fans late in the game. The rookie, who was the top overall pick in this year's draft, can make a strong statement about his ability to deal with adversity by having a strong outing in Seattle -- a notoriously tough place to play.

The Seahawks' toughness: Over their last two games, Seattle has not even come close to getting a victory. The team is dealing with a slew of injuries, but if it wants to maintain any hopes of making a playoff run, it must find a way to overcome those ailments. If the Seahawks can't rebound against the 1-6 Lions, it could be too late.

Aaron Curry's production: Leading up to the draft, there was speculation that Curry -- not Stafford -- might be the Lions' choice with the first selection. He will get a chance to state his case why Detroit should have taken him when he faces Stafford this Sunday.

Former Seahawks Maurice Morris and Julian Peterson, now with the Lions, face their former team for the first time. ... Stafford has two rushing touchdowns this year. ... Seattle's John Carlson has five touchdowns in his past seven home games.
