Seattle rookie LB Aaron Curry sacked David Garrard and forced a fumble, which was recovered by Cory Redding and returned to the Jaguars' 32-yard line on Jacksonville's opening possession of the second half. The Seahawks scored four plays later and extended their lead to 27-0, immediately dashing any hopes the Jaguars had of a miraculous second-half rally.

Game ball

After missing two games with a rib injury, Matt Hasselbeck came back for the Seahawks and made all the difference. He had four touchdown passes and pulled together a Seattle offense that had struggled mightily without him.

Key Stat

Garrard was sacked five times and lost two fumbles. He was unable to help Jacksonville sustain any drives, because he was consistently pressured when he dropped back.
