Quick Take: Seasons of struggle collide in K.C.

NFL.com and NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport has his thoughts on the game:

Why this game is intriguing: Two coaching staffs on high alert in this one, with frustrated owners watching closely to see how they finish. The Kansas City Chiefs were expected to contend for the AFC West crown. The Carolina Panthers, fresh off a promising 2011, had one player guarantee a Super Bowl win. Not so much. Now, both Romeo Crennel and Ron Rivera must finish the season on a solid note, or they might not be back in 2013. The Panthers already took a step that way, beating the Eagles on Monday night. Was that a sign of the future for Cam Newton, or an aberration?
