What we learned ...
More injury woes for linebackers: Seattle Pro Bowl linebacker Lofa Tatupu left the game with an injury. Jyles Tucker, replacing injured starter Shawne Merriman, had four tackles and made a couple of nice moves to get to the quarterback for the Chargers. But he left the game with an injury and was replaced by Carlos Polk.
Charlie Frye solid, then injured: Frye played most of the game, quite well, as he completed 19 of 29 passes for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns. Frye had to leave the game after being hit by Chargers defensive end Keith Grennan and was replaced by Seneca Wallace, who was not expected to play.
Seahawks RB Justin Forsett still challenging: The rookie from California has been spectacular in his first two games as he battles for a roster spot but finished with only 9 rushing yards on 4 carries. A fumble in the second half didn't help his standing.
Darren Sproles could get goal-line carries: The Chargers have deferred to rookie Jacob Hester in goal-line situations in the preseason, but he was unsuccessful in four attempts before finally breaking through in the fourth quarter. Sproles scored on a 1-yard touchdown plunge in the second quarter.
Chargers WR Vincent Jackson progressing: Jackson excelled for the Chargers during the 2007 playoffs and the Chargers expect more of that from him this season. Jackson had 3 receptions for 84 yards vs. the Seahawks.
