The Vikings recovered the Lions' onside kick with 2:35 remaining. Detroit was trying to quickly build on a Jason Hanson field goal after allowing Minnesota to score 27 unanswered points, but couldn't come up with the ball.

Vikings LB Chad Greenway stopped three Lions drives and then recovered an onside kick for good measure. He came into the game with two career interceptions, but picked off Matthew Stafford twice and recovered a fumble.

Key stat
The Lions led their NFC North rivals 10-7 at the half, but the second half was a different story. Before Hanson's field goal in the fourth quarter, the Lions' previous drives ended with three punts, a fumble and an interception.
