Adrian Peterson might be willing to give New England a team-friendly deal in free agency, but the Patriots are not atop his list of desired landing spots.
The Raiders and Seahawks are Peterson's preferred destinations, NFL Network's Stacey Dales reported, via a source close to the veteran running back.
Dales asked for three spots and received just Oakland and Seattle in return.
That's quite a shift from mid-January when Peterson listed the Giants, Buccaneers and Texans as three teams he has considered for his post-Minnesota career.
The Raiders come as no surprise. Peterson wants to play for a Super Bowl hopeful, and the Raiders are an up-and-coming AFC contender. Oakland's star-studded offensive line is an obvious selling point after the 31-year-old power back watched an overwhelmed Vikings frontline throughout last season.
Peterson's interest in Seattle is directly related to the presence of offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who oversaw the Vikings' attack from 2006 through 2010.
"Those are some pretty good years (under Bevell)," Peterson's father explained, via St. Paul Pioneer Press.
While it seems natural that Peterson would want to rejoin Bevell and follow in Marshawn Lynch's footsteps as the tackle-breaking workhorse for a perennial NFC superpower, Pete Carroll already has a pair of talented young tailbacks in Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise.
Carroll's coaching staff has lavishedrepeated praise on Rawls, who broke Lynch's single-game postseason rushing record in Seattle's Wild Card round victory over Detroit.
