The hits keep on coming for the St. Louis Rams' offensive line.
Two days after an MRI exam revealed a stress fracture in the left toe of left tackle Jason Smith, coach Steve Spagnuolo announced that guard Mark Setterstrom was diagnosed with a torn triceps that may require surgery.
"He's got a decision, we've got a decision," said Spagnuolo. "We'll have to wait and see. You know, Mark's not sure what he wants to do.
"We're kind of weighing our options right now. We've got a few days. We're not going to do anything right now. I'm disappointed -- I feel bad for Mark. All the rehab that he's gone through from the injuries here. He's just a tough guy and a quality guy."
Setterstrom's recovery period is obviously dependent on whether or not he has surgery, but he is not likely to be ready in time for the regular season.
As for Smith, his injury will not require surgery, Spagnuolo said Thursday. The second overall pick in the 2009 draft, Smith has been ruled out for the remainder of this weekend's minicamp and the team's final set of OTAs next week, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
