Randy Moss: Titans WR Kenny Britt can be 'special'

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt made quite an impression on Randy Moss when the two were together in Nashville for half of the 2010 season.

Moss has stayed in touch with the oft-arrested Britt, and the two regularly play video games together. If Britt can develop more discipline and maturity, Moss believes he can still become one of the game's great receivers.

"I can't really speak about it because I have been into trouble off the field myself," Moss told The Tennessean. "But from what I have seen Kenny Britt do, man, if he gets his mind right, Kenny Britt can get up in elite class very quickly. I am a big fan of his."

How high is Britt's ceiling? "Kenny Britt is a young receiver who can get in that A.J. Green, Julio Jones mix if he wants to, and does the things to make it happen," Moss said. "But his is more mental than it is physical. I hope it works out for him because he is quite a talent. That guy could be special."

Moss is not alone in that opinion. "He is a talent like no other," former Rutgers teammate Ray Rice added. "If he ever puts it all together -- and that's not football -- then he can be one of the top five receivers in this league, hands down."

Britt is coming off a disappointing season, failing to return to form following three knee surgeries. Even if he has an epiphany and begins toeing the line, he must prove that his pre-injury explosiveness is back. As of late December, the knees were still not cooperating. Put on notice by general manager Ruston Webster in a contract year, Britt's next six months could make or break his Titans career.
