We have our first tangible look at Big Blue's backfield pecking order.
Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News tweeted out a Giants depth chart on Thursday that revealed Rashad Jennings as the No. 1 ball carrier ahead of David Wilson.
It's not a surprise after Wilson was medically cleared for training camp just days ago on the heels of late-season neck surgery. We are marginally surprised, though, to see the plodding Peyton Hillis listed ahead of Andre Williams after the rookie opened camp ahead of the veteran.
There's plenty of time for the bottom half of this list to sort itself out, but here's one fantasy note to tuck away: Williams has seen his share of goal-line snaps during the first week of camp.
On Wednesday's Around The League Podcast, we pointed to New York's backfield as the No. 1 position battle for a Giants squad certain to look different on offense under new coordinator Ben McAdoo.
Jennings was signed to carry the load, but Wilson has an outstanding shot to make this a committee effort -- if not lead the way. After all, Wilson is arguably the team's flashiest athlete and New York's most potent home-run hitter when healthy. Stay tuned.
