Ravens CB Nate Wiggins becomes first first-rounder from 2024 draft to sign contract

The Ravens just became the first team to sign a first-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft.

Baltimore inked cornerback Nate Wiggins to his rookie deal on Thursday, per the league transaction wire.

Wiggins, the No. 30 overall pick out of Clemson, was the third CB off the board last week and quickly signed on the line to join a secondary long known for its lockdown capabilities.

Baltimore's defense ranked first in scoring overall last season, sixth in yards allowed through the air and second in passing touchdowns surrendered.

Wiggins brings an enviable dash of speed to a secondary group led by Marlon Humphrey, Kyle Hamilton and Marcus Williams, as his 4.28 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine was tops at his position. He made first-team All-ACC in his final year at Clemson and led the Tigers in passes defensed his last two seasons, with 12 and nine, respectively. Although Wiggins logged only three interceptions in his career, he took two back for scores.

He wasn't the only rookie signee for Baltimore on Thursday, either.

The Ravens also signed offensive tackle Roger Rosengarten (No. 62 overall), CB T.J. Tampa (No. 130) and safety Kane Sanoussi (No. 250).

All four players will join their other incoming teammates at Baltimore's rookie minicamp from May 3-5.
