The Baltimore Ravens are close to a long-term deal with kicker Billy Cundiff, a source with knowledge of the situation said Saturday.
The sides have been working on an extension and made significant progress, according to the source, and the deal is expected to be finalized this week. Re-signing Cundiff and defensive lineman Haloti Ngata are among Baltimore's offseason priorities.
Cundiff, once a Dallas Cowboys starter, bounced around with several teams before signing with the Ravens late in the 2009 season. He took over for Steven Hauschka, who struggled to replace longtime kicker Matt Stover. Cundiff then beat out Shayne Graham for the job last summer in training camp and made 26 of 29 field-goal attempts.
