Linebacker Brian Orakpo would love to see how the Redskins' improved defense would look with strong safety LaRon Landry back in the mix.
"Just another playmaker out there," Orakpo told The Washington Post. "We've obviously been doing a good job out there. We've obviously been doing well so far. But it just adds another playmaker. It's like ketchup on a burger. We'll be excited if he's able to go. We'll be excited to have him out there."
After missing seven games last season with an Achilles' tendon injury and all of this season with a hamstring injury, Landry's itching to contribute to Washington's 11th-ranked defense.
"Don't calm me down. Let me go. Untame this beast, man," Landry told The Associated Press on Wednesday. "It's been a while."
Despite Landry's zeal, coach Mike Shanahan told The Post he's yet to decide if the fifth-year starter will face the Cowboys on Monday night.
"It's day by day," Shanahan said. "If he keeps on improving and getting better, hopefully he'll be ready. But, I thought that last week and it didn't work out. ... You've got to find out if somebody's in football shape and try to get them back in football shape and that's what we'll try to judge during the week."
