Redskins GM says he wants veteran LB Fletcher back with team

London Fletcher thinks he's found a home in Washington, and it looks like the Redskins agree.

Redskins general manager Bruce Allen told the team's official website this week that he wants to re-sign the veteran linebacker, who led the NFL with 166 tackles in 2011, his 14th season.

"We want to, we want to -- and he wants to come back," Allen said. "We're just waiting for the season to finish, and then we're gonna take care of business.

"He's a captain. We want our captain back."

Fletcher is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. The 36-year-old has already indicated that he wants to return to the team.

He joined the Redskins for the 2007 season after stints in Buffalo and St. Louis. He broke into the league with the Rams in 1998.
