There was talk after the New England Patriots lost Super Bowl XLVI that guard Brian Waters might be done. After taking time to mull his future, the 35-year-old Waters decided against retirement.
Waters is a no-show at this week's organized team activities, but the Boston Herald reported the longtime veteran has "planned all along" to return for his 13th NFL season and second campaign with the Patriots.
A source told the newspaper that Waters is spending the offseason with his family. In the meantime, third-year veteran Ryan Wendell is filling in with the first team this week.
Waters was impressive last season. After signing with New England before the opener, he went on to start 16 games and earn his second straight Pro Bowl nod.
