The DNA of Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston was found on the underwear of the woman who has accused him of sexual battery, ESPN.com reported Wednesday night.
Florida's state crime lab determined that there is a one in 2.2 trillion chance that the sample taken after the alleged assault on Dec. 7, 2012 matches someone other than Winston.
A DNA match confirms contact between Winston and the accuser, but does not indicate whether any sexual contact was consensual or forced.
Winston provided a DNA sample to investigators, but has not been interviewed by Tallahassee police or the state's attorney now investigating the case.
Winston, a redshirt freshman who has led the Seminoles to a 10-0 record and the No. 2 ranking in the BCS, met with reporters Wednesday but was prevented by athletic department staffers from answering questions about the investigation.
