Report: Miami OT Ereck Flowers to visit with Cleveland Browns

One of the top offensive tackles in the 2015 NFL Draft will be visiting the Cleveland Browns.

Former Miami offensive tackle Ereck Flowers will be making a visit to Cleveland to talk with Browns officials, a report says.

The Browns, who have the No. 12 and No. 19 overall picks, will meet with former Miami offensive tackle Ereck Flowers (6-foot-6 1/4, 329 pounds), according to a report from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Flowers, who left the Hurricanes after his junior season, was a part-time starter at right tackle as a true freshman in 2012 before moving to the left side in 2013 and becoming a full-time starter. Some analysts see him as a better fit on the right side; that group includes NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock, who sees Flowers as a potential Pro Bowler at right tackle.

The Browns don't need a left tackle, a position manned by perennial Pro Bowler Joe Thomas, but team officials could see Flowers as an upgrade at right tackle over Mitchell Schwartz, though Schwartz did have a solid 2014 campaign.

For the second year in a row, the Browns own two first-round picks. A wide receiver would seem to be a must, even with the recent acquisitions of Dwayne Bowe and Brian Hartline. An edge rusher or defensive lineman also would seem to be a higher priority than an offensive lineman. But Flowers' upside is intriguing, as is the thought that he perhaps one day could replace Thomas at left tackle.

Flowers ranks 25th on NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah's list of the top 50 prospects, and Jeremiah is another analyst who thinks Flowers fits best on the right side. All six NFL Media analysts who have done a mock draft have Flowers going in the first round and two have him being selected by the Browns - - one with the 12th pick, the other with the 19th.
