Report: Mike Glennon to work out for Arizona Cardinals

We told you earlier Monday about Carson Palmer possibly drawing interest from the Arizona Cardinals if -- OK, when -- he is released by the Oakland Raiders in the coming weeks.

With apologies to Drew Stanton, we don't believe the Cardinals currently have their starting quarterback on the roster. That said, the Cardinals will have other options to weigh besides the exceedingly average Palmer.

Casserly: Mock Draft

Charley Casserly reveals his first full mock draft of 2013. One well-represented position in the first round: wide receiver. **More ...**

Case in point: ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday that Cardinals general manager Steve Keim and assistant coach Tom Moore will be in Raleigh to work out N.C. State quarterback Mike Glennon on Tuesday.

In his glowing review of Glennon last week, NFL draft analyst Bucky Brooks wrote that he sees glimpses of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco. Glennon has size and a big-time arm, but questions of mobility and faulty decision-making have kept his draft profile relatively low.

If the Cardinals take Glennon in the early rounds, it would represent a change of philosophy for the franchise. The Cardinals haven't taken a quarterback in the first four rounds since 2005, when they made Matt Leinart their 10th overall pick.

The Cardinals obviously got burned by that selection, but it might be time to take another shot with Glennon in play.
