The New Orleans Saints began minicamp Tuesday without cornerback Keenan Lewis.
His absence came with a good excuse.
The Times-Picayune reported Tuesday that Lewis is recovering after spending a night in a local hospital due to stomach pains. A source told the paper that the ailment is not considered to be serious, but doctors wanted to hold Lewis for observation purposes.
Lewis has been released from the hospital and could rejoin his teammates in practice Wednesday.
Lewis was the team's biggest free-agent splash this offseason, signing a five-year, $26.3 million contract with the team in February. No word if Lewis' sick stomach came from watching tape of the Saints' porous secondary last season.
