San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree has arrived in the Bay Area, a source close to the player told *The Sacramento Bee*, and he plans to start working out with his teammates, including quarterback Alex Smith.
Until recently, Crabtree had been working out in Dallas, his hometown.
Players who live in the San Francisco area have been practicing together since February. When the lockout was briefly lifted April 29, some players were able to procure the playbook from new coach Jim Harbaugh.
The playbook has been circulating amongst the team since then, and the pass routes and plays have been used during the player-led practice sessions.
Rookie quarterback Colin Kaepernick had been given a copy of the playbook by a teammate, and Crabtree likely will have one, too.
A lingering neck injury kept Crabtree out of the preseason last year and might have contributed to a lack of chemistry with Smith at the start of the regular season.
