Star Lotulelei is having more issues with his troublesome right foot.
The Carolina Panthers defensive tackle was carted off the field Monday after injuring his foot during practice. Lotulelei had surgery in the offseason after injuring the foot during the playoffs.
The Charlotte Observer later reported that Lotulelei had a stress reaction in the foot and will be re-evaluated in a few weeks. Lotulelei was spotted leaving the Panthers' training facility in a walking boot.
"His foot got sore, and the best thing is Dr. (Robert) Anderson happened to be in town, so we just gotta get him up and take a look at him," Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said, according to ESPN.com.
"We might be being overly protective about it."
When asked if he would miss time with the injury, Lotulelei replied, "I don't know."
It's something to keep an eye on as the Panthers move through camp. Lotulelei is a key cog in their defensive line. The team is already without its other starting defensive lineman, Kawann Short, who has been sidelined by back spasms.
