When Rod Streater was placed on injured reserve/designated to return in early October, the Oakland Raiders' hope was that the wide receiver would need just four or five weeks to recover from foot surgery.
Two months later, it now appears Streater's will not see the field again until 2015.
Although Streater's foot felt good in last week's return to practice, he has been dealing with soreness in a setback this week.
Since the Raiders are closing in on the end of a 21-day window to active him from injured reserve, Streater will not play in the final three games, reports Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area.
Streater entered training camp as the No. 1 receiver after leading the team with 60 receptions for 888 yards and four touchdowns in 2013. He will finish his third season with just nine catches for 84 yards in three games.
It will be interesting to see how Oakland's wide receiver corps shakes out next season. In Streater, James Jones, Andre Holmes, Kenbrell Thompkins and Vincent Brown, they have a handful of receivers lacking in big-play ability and better-suited as role players.
