Report: Terrelle Pryor works out for Buccaneers

With Josh McCown possibly hitting the shelf for a significant stretch, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking for outside help at quarterback.

That means opportunity for former Oakland Raiders signal-caller Terrelle Pryor, who worked out for the Bucs on Monday, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

Pryor spent training camp with the Seattle Seahawks but was among the team's final cuts. In the preseason, he completed 21 of 39 passes for 281 yards (7.2 yards per attempt), a touchdown and two interceptions, adding 97 yards and a score on the ground.

Pryor has obvious athletic gifts -- let's not forget this -- but he remains a work in progress as a passer. We'll see if the Bucs become the latest team to take on the Pryor project.

McCown's status remains unclear after he suffered a thumb injury in Thursday's embarrassing loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Mike Glennon is a safe bet to start in Week 4.
