If they have the chance, the Dallas Cowboys might rest some of their key starters in Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to reports.
It just all depends on what happens with the New York Giants earlier in the day. If they defeat the New York Jets, that would set up a de facto NFC East title game between the Giants and Cowboys next week -- even if Dallas loses to Philadelphia -- which would give Jerry Jones' team incentive to heal some wounded players.
Fox Sports Southwest originally reported that running back Felix Jones (hamstring) "will not play a snap" if the Giants win but is "50-50" to play if they lose.
Later on Saturday, ESPNDallas.com reported the team would consider resting several starters, including linebacker DeMarcus Ware (neck) and defensive lineman Jay Ratliff (ribs).
Jones, Ware and Ratliff all are active for the game.
If Jones doesn't go, then recently signed veteran Sammy Morris is expected to take the bulk of the carries. The Cowboys also signed running back Chauncey Washington to the active roster from their practice squad Friday.
