FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) - Darrelle Revis still is upset with Bill Belichick.
The All-Pro cornerback said Thursday that the way the Patriots coach "disrespects" the New York Jets is uncalled for and not professional.
"When you make it personal, when you say things that are personal, why go there?" Revis said of derogatory comments he believes Belichick made last season, particularly after a 37-16 home loss to New England. "When you are talking about having a better defense, OK. But when you say they can suck ... or whatever.
"It's a sport. Hey, we shook your hands after the game. Then it gets too personal, without anything said from our side. They can feel they are better than us, just don't get personal."
Revis called Belichick "a jerk" in March on a TV show. He doesn't deny that Belichick is a top coach. It's his approach that annoys Revis.
"That's disrepect," Revis said.
Asked about his contract status, Revis said he is "cool" with his current deal, which has two years to run and came out of a lengthy, contentious holdout in 2010. He says he is not thinking about another holdout, but didn't completely dismiss it.
"Let's quit talking about holding out and holding in," he said after an offseason team workout Thursday. "I have two more years on my contract. I am cool. I am not unhappy about anything."
But he also believes he's outperformed the deal that pays him about $46 million over four years, with $32 million guaranteed. Philadelphia's Nnamdi Asomugha signed for $60 million over five years last summer.
"I don't need to say that," Revis said. "It speaks for itself.
"I don't need to be a distraction to this team. I am a part of the roster. I am in the contract I am in now and right now I am with the team and working out and trying to get ready for the season. Even if my representative and (the team) start discussing it, my focus is with the team."
Revis called the 2011 season "disgusting."
"It was 8-8," he said. "That's not good. But we are not 8-8 now. We are not that team."
