Rex Ryan: Bills 'definitely expect to be in the playoffs'

Rex Ryan continues to talk a big game in Buffalo.

"We definitely expect to be in the playoffs. We have a good team," the Bills coach said Tuesday.

While it wasn't a full-on postseason guarantee -- which Ryan regularly issued as coach of the Jets -- it's another reminder of Rex's modus operandi: (1) Talk big. (2) Hope the team backs it up.

Buffalo has plenty of talent, especially up front on defense. Mario Williams, Marcell Dareus, Kyle Williams and Jerry Hughes make up the AFC's most ferocious line, with the power to crush opposing quarterbacks.

The offense is littered with weapons, too, starting with Sammy Watkins and Percy Harvin out wide, Charles Clay at tight end and LeSean McCoy anchoring a deep backfield.

Buffalo utterly lacks a sure-fire talent at quarterback, but solid play under center has always been an alien concept to Ryan. He's looking right past that again in 2015.

While the Bills have playoff-level talent, it's unclear why Rex must chronically promise such heights before making it a reality.
