Richard Sherman eyes new endorsements, agent says

Richard Sherman's rant might pay off -- literally.

The Seattle Seahawks cornerback's agent, Jamie Fritz, said interest in his client has exploded since his postgame outburst on San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree went viral. In fact, Sherman could make upward of $5 million in endorsements, according to CNNMoney.

"We have some new players who have come to the table who are starting the conversation," Fritz told CNN.

Sherman, who was his high school's salutatorian, received a lot of criticism for his tirade in the NFC title game, but Fritz believes it's enhanced the All-Pro's image.

"I think that he's more likable," Fritz said. "People love this. The brand managers love this."

Sherman's current endorsements (which include commercials for Beats by Dre and Nike) total little more than his $555,000 salary. However, Fritz believes Sherman can tally up millions in deals and some might be signed before Super Bowl XLVIII.

"Win or lose," Fritz said, "I don't think it changes the landscape of opportunities for Richard Sherman this offseason."

Sherman also could fetch a hefty new contract with the Seahawks. He's currently playing on his rookie deal, which expires at the end of the 2014 season. He's due to make just $645,000 in base salary next season -- one of the NFL's best bargains.
