Ricky Jean Francois signs 3-year deal with Redskins

Ricky Jean Francois has found a new home.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that Jean Francois has signed a three-year contract with the Redskins, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. The deal is worth up to $9 million with $4 million guaranteed. With incentives, the total value of the contract can reach $11.25 million.

The signing comes after Jean Francois met with the Redskins, 49ers and Seahawks. The Colts released Jean Francois on Monday, just two years into a four-year, $22 million contract signed in 2013.

Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan has ties to Jean Francois. During his run as GM of the 49ers, McCloughan selected Jean Francois in the seventh round of the 2009 draft.

Jean Francois was to be ranked No. 80 on Around The NFL's Top 101 free-agent list. He's done quite well for himself before free agency madness truly begins.
